
Brian Chee joined Polaris in 1996 and is a general partner in our Seattle office. Brian focuses on investments in life sciences and healthcare.
Experience:
Prior to becoming an investor, Brian gained significant experience in business operations and leadership. Brian is a decorated veteran, having served as Captain in the US Army Corps of Engineers. His service included the command of combat engineer soldiers during the Gulf War. As platoon leader, Brian was awarded the Bronze Star and the Army Commendation Medal with Valor for successfully completing missions while encountering enemy fire on the front lines. He also worked at Baxter Healthcare, a global, diversified healthcare company, with expertise in medical devices, pharmaceuticals and biotechnology.

Brian represents Polaris on the boards of Apnex Medical, Ascend Health, Asthmatx, Botanical Laboratories, BridgePoint Medical, Cardiac Concepts, and Data Sciences International. He is a past board member of Cardiac Dimensions, Free & Clear (acquired by Inverness Medical Innovations; NYSE: IMA), and Sentillion (acquired by Microsoft; NASDAQ: MSFT)

Education:
Brian holds an MBA from the Amos Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College and a BS from the United States Military Academy at West Point. During his time at Dartmouth, Brian completed an internship in the New York and San Francisco offices of Goldman Sachs.
